Cap.guru is an automatic captcha recognition service with an API. It takes manual captcha entry out of your workflow: your software sends a task and gets a ready answer within seconds, then carries on without interruption.
Recognition is fully automatic and runs around the clock. The service handles high request volumes, so it suits both small scripts and large projects processing thousands of captchas per hour. You pay only for the requests you send, with no subscription fees or minimum volumes.
Supported captchas
Cap.guru handles the main types of captchas found on the web:
- text captchas from images;
- token captchas that verify users in the background;
- click captchas where you need to select images, mark points or solve a puzzle.

Getting started
- Sign up and top up your balance.
- Copy your API key from your account dashboard. It is generated automatically after your first top-up.
- Connect your software to Cap.guru using one of the two methods below.
Method 1. Set the API address
If your software lets you set the API address, enter one of these:
https://api2.cap.guru/https://ipv6.cap.guru/
Then paste your API key into the software settings.
Method 2. Emulation via hosts
If your software does not let you change the API address, you can redirect its requests through the hosts file: the Cap.guru IP address is mapped to the domain of the service you used before. A ready-made bat file does this for you.
Not all captcha types are supported through emulation. Text captchas and reCAPTCHA tokens are guaranteed to work.
How to use the bat file
- Download the file to your computer.
- Run it as administrator.
- Press any key to confirm the changes.
- In your software settings, choose the service the bat file is meant for and enter your Cap.guru API key.
